Conveniently packaged and ready for consumption, RTDs provide a range of options for busy consumers. Whether you are in need of instant coffee, iced tea, a protein shake, or canned juice, there’s an RTD available. However, when it comes to matching the same taste found in homemade or made-to-order drinks, it can get tough.
Consumers value taste and consider flavor a top priority. While health and other wellness factors play a part in purchase decisions, brands must keep innovation in taste offerings in mind. Since non-alcoholic RTDs are vast in the beverage space, their flavors are too. In alcohol alternative RTDs, for example, recreating the flavor and mouthfeel of a traditional alcoholic drink would pique the interest of sober-curious consumers. Expanding that notion by adding flavors not normally seen in conventional alcoholic drinks would also provide novel experiences.
In the long run, positioning RTD drinks as a natural and tasty alternative would benefit the non-alcoholic category while demonstrating flavor variety.
