The Role

Reporting to the Supervisor, as a Production Worker you will be responsible for mixing ingredients in our Cerritos plant. On a daily basis, you will come in, change into your company-provided personal protective equipment (PPE) and get started on your batches for the day.

You’ll work in teams with other Production Workers – we currently have approximately 11 in the group. You’ll be given a shop order for each batch, which outlines the ingredients needed, the quantities to use, and where the products are located on the warehouse floor. We utilize the metric system here, so we have quantities that are less than a gram in our batches, meaning your attention to detail, accuracy, ability to read itemized orders and mathematical aptitude will need to be top-notch.

Work flow varies depending on the size and types of batches being mixed, but you can expect to be responsible for anywhere from one to seven batches per day, and batches can contain two to 90 ingredients. Once the ingredients are fully mixed, you will pack the batch into the final product container and label the package.

Consumer safety is of utmost importance and part of your role will include cleaning and sanitizing the mixing tanks. For example, if you mix peanut flavor one day and the next day you are mixing fruit punch, you’ll need to clean and sanitize the tanks in order to prevent allergen cross-contamination. We employ both simple, stainless steel mixing vessels and more complex blending systems, equipment and machinery.

We have several quality systems in place internally, and we will look to you to adhere to the principles of these systems and procedures.
